Home Delivery

Food Hampers Brought to Your Door

Beginning Fall 2020, the Dryden Food Bank launched a home delivery program.

This program can help if you are a client facing the challenge of coming in-person to the food bank to pick up a food hamper.  You can qualify for home delivery if you are facing:
  • mobility difficulties
  • physical disability
  • mental health problems
  • chronic illness.

Eligibility

To apply for the home delivery program, please contact our Dryden Food Bank Manager via phone at 807-223-3881 or via email at drydenfoodbank@drytel.net.

Clients must live in the city of Dryden, be pre-approved through the application process and deemed eligible.
A variety of individuals and families can qualify for home delivery.  Here are some examples:
  • Seniors who are facing difficulties due to age, physical disability or chronic illness.
  • People who are unable to access the food bank in-person due to a permanent or temporary disability.
  • Single-parent homes with large families and no means of transportation.
  • Individuals or families that the Manager deems eligible.

To apply for the program, please fill out an application and present a note of professional endorsement.  Those with physical disability, mental health problems, chronic illness, or permanent or temporary mobility challenges need a signed Professional Endorsement note alongside their application.  These can be filled out by a medical professional (doctor, nurse, etc.), mental health worker, law enforcement officer, social worker, pastor or religious leader, etc.

How it works

  • Approved clients phone each week and request home delivery when booking their hamper.
  • Approved clients must give their address when booking (so we know where to go!)
  • Home deliveries happen on Wednesdays between 11:30am-1:00pm.
  • Clients must be at home to receive their hamper.  We do not leave hampers outside on the doorstep.  The client or a family member should be at the dwelling to receive the food hamper.

We are so grateful for all our volunteers who give of their time,
and all those who donate food or funds to keep our doors open!  Thank you!
